Future Proofing: Machine learning to prevent depression

Technology is already changing the way we treat and manage depression. But what if we could go one step further?
A pioneer in the use of websites and apps to treat mental illness, Executive Director and Chief Scientist of the Black Dog Institute, Prof Helen Christensen now believes that machine learning and genome tracking can be harnessed to prevent depression in young people.
According to the WHO, depression will be the leading cause of illness worldwide by 2030. Helen will provide context for this situation before tackling what will be one of the world’s biggest challenges.
